Ready for Spring Cleaning?

There’s a reason why “Spring Cleaning” is a thing. It’s the time of the year when many people across the country and throughout the world are making a rotation from colder weather to warmer weather. People are packing up their winter clothing, space heaters and extra blankets and preparing them for storage until next winter. At the same time, they’re bringing out their shorts, t-shirts, sandals and sunglasses as they look forward to warmer weather.

With all of this packing, unpacking and moving things in and out of storage, many people decide that this is as good of a time as ever to do some heavy-duty cleaning. The idea has just sort of stuck and now we talk about Spring Cleaning this time every year.

This concept of packing up winter clothing and supplies isn’t something that we Arizonans can necessarily relate to – many of us can now make it through the winter with nothing more than a sweatshirt. But there’s still plenty of us who associate the springtime and its warmer weather with a time to freshen up our homes and offices.

A Time to De-Clutter

The spring-cleaning process is a great time to identify clutter throughout your home office and get rid of it. You may find that your bedroom and hallway closets are stuffed to the brim with items you just don’t use very much anymore. Now is a great time to donate or throw these items away. If you still think there’s a possibility you’ll use some of these things down the road, choose an affordable and simple storage solution.

Holiday Supplies

Take a look in your garage – do you see boxes of holiday decorations and supplies? Most of the holidays that we decorate for are in the Fall and Winter. It will be months before you will need these items and there’s no sense in letting them take up precious space in your garage. Move these boxes and totes to your storage unit where they will be kept safe, clean and ready for use in the Fall.

Files and Paperwork

As you look around your office, both at home and at work, you may notice that your files and paperwork are beginning to take up too much space. Some of these files may contain important documents that you simply cannot throw away. Still, there’s no sense in having them clutter up your office. Box your files up safely and store them in your storage unit until you need them.

And of course, even though we don’t use them that often here in Arizona, many of us still have a winter coat or two in the closet. Many people here in Arizona head to the mountains during the winter months for skiing and snowboarding. You can save yourself quite a bit of space at home by keeping these items in storage.

Arizona Storage Centers has many different options available for storage, including smaller closet sized units for those who only have a small amount of items to store. These units are affordable and easy to access. Learn more about the options we offer by giving us a call at 480-386-6022.
