There is no shortage of golf courses in the Phoenix area. With over 200 public courses, the valley offers some of the most iconic golf that appeals to a variety of golfers. Let’s take a look at the top 10 public courses that you can play today.

If you ever get bored of golf, the Wigwam Resort offers the most variety. It has three championship-winning courses among the best scenery in Arizona. The courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, offering a perfect balance between a fun and challenging experience.

9. Raven Golf Club – Phoenix

Raven Golf Clu was¬†voted #5 “Golf Course in the State” and #1 in ‘Guest Service in North America” by AZ Magazine. The course offers a great combination of world-class golfing with thought-out amenities. Raven Golf Club is situated at the foothills of South Mountain, which means you’ll always have amazing scenery during your round of golf.

8. Sunridge Canyon Golf Club

If scenery is up on your list, then Sunridge Canyon Golf Club will not disappoint. The 6,823-yard, Keith Foster-designed course is a checkerboard of sparkling lakes, canyons, and picturesque waterfall around every turn. The award-winning course is challenging and will test the skills of some of the most experienced golfers. Its signature hole is #6.

7. TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course

The most known course in Phoenix might be TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. It is home to the PGA TOUR’s Waste Management Phoenix Open. The famous #16, par 3 hole is where Tiger Woods hit a hole in one back in 1997. 4. Quintero Golf Club

Quintero was ranked as the “Best Public Course” by both Golf DIget and Golf Weekly Magazines in 2017. It is about an hour from downtown Phoenix but offers golf that is unlike anything in town. Designed by Rees Jones, the course is masterminded in every way to fit the surrounding landscape. Every hole has astounding views with expertly placed bunkers and manicured greens. The course offers excellent amenities which include golf lessons with PGA pro-Tyler Haynes as well as accommodations if you’d like to stick around and play the course again tomorrow, which you might want to do. This makes the course a world-class hub for golf enthusiasts alike.

 

3. Gold Canyon Golf Resort

Gold Canyon Golf Resort offers two excellent 18-hole golf courses (Dinosaur Mountain and Sidewinder) that are very much different from one another. There a dramatic elevation changes and lots of local wildlife to encounter. You’ll want to bring a camera with you as you tee off on elevated tee boxes for many of the par-3 holes. Additional amenities include a spa and salon with various dining opportunities.

2. We-Ko-Pa Golf Club

Our second favorite golf course in the Phoenix area is We-Ko-Pa. This facility may be regarded as the best desert course in the Phoenix area, offering two 18-championship courses that really stand out. The fairways flow with the surrounding landscape and the course is always in immaculate shape. It’s true, the course is simply gorgeous! After your round, try out the restaurant for some local favorite food and beer on tap.

1. Troon North Golf Club

The number one course in the Phoenix area is Troon North Golf Club. With two 18-hole courses that wander through the ravines and foothills that sit next to Pinnacle Peak, Troon North Golf Club is guaranteed to bring you one of the best games of golf that you’ll ever play. Troon was featured on Golfweek’s list of “Top 200 Resort Courses.” It has also been voted on Golf Channels’s number one “Top 10 Arizona Resort Courses.”
